Kansas State Capitol ~ Topeka Kansas ~  Rotunda ~ Murals

A lot of murals, statues and photographs line the halls of the Statehouse illustrating crucial points in Kansas record. In the initial flooring rotunda, uncover David H. Overmyer’s 8 scenes from Kansas record together with The Coming of the Spaniards, pictured over. Eight scenes in the next flooring rotunda by Lumen Martin Winter depict record, agriculture, industry and schooling. Pete Felten created four sculptures of famed Kansans that are displayed in the next flooring rotunda of Arthur Capper, Amelia Earhart, Dwight Eisenhower and William Allen White. A stroll close to the capitol grounds reveal numerous sculptures together with two by Robert Merrell Gage: Abraham Lincoln: Person of Sorrows and The Pioneer Mom and Baby.
